Hi, I am Satyajit from the ManageIQ Quality Engineering team. I will be your guide in this quick recap of what happened in the PyCon Pune-2017 Python Conference.

The second ManageIQ Design Summit was held on June 6-7, 2016 in Mahwah, NJ. We welcomed over 160 participants from around the world (more than double the attendance of the first summit!). There were a total of 26 sessions by 34 presenters. If you missed some of the presentations, or would like to take another look at them, here is the playlist of video recordings of all the sessions, starting with Oleg’s keynote:

The slides from ManageIQ Design Summit 2016 are now available, as well as accompanying demo videos (these are not the recordings of the talks, which are still being processed). Here is the list in presentation order during the summit. Hope you find them useful to review ideas shared during the event!

As we announced last week, the ManageIQ Design Summit will be on June 6-7 in Mahwah, NJ. We are now opening the Call for Papers. If you’re interested in having a presentation at the summit, please submit your talk proposals here. The CFP will be open for the whole of March, ending on 2016-03-31 at 23:00 UTC. Speakers will be notified of acceptance by mid-April.

I am excited to share this piece of news with the community: the second ManageIQ Design Summit will take place this summer, on June 6 & 7 (Mon-Tue), at the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Reminder that the ManageIQ BoF at Red Hat Summit is today - Thursday, June 25.

Next week (June 23 - June 26) is Red Hat Summit, and we have quite the agenda put together for ManageIQ and CloudForms users.

I’m happy to report that we will be having a birds-of-a-feather meetup (aka “BoF”) at Red Hat Summit on Thursday, June 25 at 4pm EDT. A BoF is an informal gathering of people who come together to discuss a particular topic, in this case ManageIQ. We would like to use this opportunity to share some of the community highlights from the previous year, as well as discuss the upcoming roadmap and Capablanca release cycle.

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, we are having a day to ourselves on Wednesday, May 20 at the upcoming OpenStack Summit in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

I’m pleased to announce that the ManageIQ project will have a big showing at the upcoming OpenStack Summit in Vancouver, British Columbia. Here are the activities we have on tap:

We’re happy to announce the preliminary agenda for the upcoming ManageIQ Design Summit, a 2-day event on October 7 & 8 in Montvale, NJ. Be sure to RSVP soon, as space is very limited. As mentioned in the title, it’s a small intimate gathering of cloud experts, those interested in pushing the limits of ManageIQ and setting the roadmap for development. If you’re a ManageIQ user who wants to learn how to make the most of its automation and orchestration capabilities, then there will be plenty for you, too:

If you’d like to volunteer to put together the upcoming ManageIQ Design Summit, let it be known in the comments section of this blog post. We will start having weekly meetings for the purpose of putting together the agenda, and we need volunteers to review abstracts and potential speakers.

The votes are in, and “Botvinnik” is the winner! In planning for Botvinnik (which we’ll sometimes shorten to “bot”) we’re now accepting blueprints for proposed features. Just submit your blueprint and make sure to categorize it properly. Next, you’ll need to propose an abstract for the ManageIQ Design Summit. Make sure to put your proposal in the Abstracts category.

As we wind down the Anand release cycle, the next one is winding up: a vote to determine the next release name, a call for feature blueprints, and a call for participation for the very first ManageIQ Design Summit.

As I mentioned in the previous blog post, it’s a great day to be in the cloud. Yesterday marked our announcement at the OpenStack Summit, and the reaction was pretty swift and positive. There is pent-up demand for software that lets others take control of their clouds and virtualization environments.
